Week of August 29th

Students share their thoughts about what the "Year of Awesome" is.

School Accountability Committee: DATE CHANGE

We have changed the date of our upcoming meeting to September 21st from 4:00 to 5:15pm in the Learning Commons. Our original meeting coincided with the Legend Homecoming Parade. Please join us on the 21st!

Legend Homecoming Parade:

We are excited to have been asked to create a float for the Legend Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, September 14th. Staff will be working on float ideas next week. More information about the parade will be sent home next Thursday.

Hidden River Playground:

It has come to my attention that several students are playing at the park across the street (Hidden River clubhouse) without supervision. Please ensure that students are walking directly home or, if staying to play, have a parent/guardian supervising them. We want to ensure that our students are safe after school.

Delayed or Early Dismissal:

Please ensure that your emergency contacts are up to date. We are unable to release students to anyone other than parent/guardian and emergency contacts without speaking with you. With the increase of parents in the building for dismissal, it can take some time to contact you. If we are unable to contact you, we cannot release your student to a non-emergency contact. This is to ensure that our students get home safely.

For our lightening dismissals, students who walk home will not be allowed to leave the building until the conditions are safe to walk. Again, this is to ensure the safety of our students.

Parking Lot Reminders:
Please use caution and drive carefully to keep our lot areas safe for our students, staff and families. This includes our dirt parking lot area. Thank you!

Watch Dog Dads:
Our Watch D.O.G.S. sign up has been updated.  Please click the link below to sign up.

A Year of Awesome!
This year is our year of awesome! Students and staff are focusing on making this year awesome by caring for one another, paying it forward, treating everybody respectfully, and making every day awesome.
"If we all make today awesome for somebody else, Today will be awesome for everybody."

School Pictures/Assessment Day:
Our assessment and school picture day is tomorrow!  Students do not have a regular school day and will only be attending during their scheduled assessment time. Parents will choose a time during the day to bring their student(s) to school for assessments and school pictures.

School Accountability Committee:
Our School Accountability Committee’s first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 4:00-5:00pm. The purpose of this committee is to inform, encourage, and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes. We encourage you to join us throughout the year. Our agenda, meeting notes, and date for our next meeting will be posted on the main hallway bulletin board.

Boosterthon:
Our Boosterthon Fun Run kickoff is next week! Students will be learning valuable skills throughout the week with a final fun run celebration on September 8th. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and this year, we are working towards supporting literacy programming in our building. Please help support our school by getting as many pledges as possible! Your student’s teacher will be updating you on our progress and will provide more information next week.

We are working to make our website more user friendly. Upcoming changes will include:
