Bus Loop Parking:
Parking spaces in the bus loop are for STAFF USE ONLY. Please do not park here or utilize this area for drop off. If you are in this area, a staff member will ask you to move. Thank you for your cooperation.

Trunk or Treat:
Please join us tomorrow night from 5:00-6:00pm for safe trick-or-treating at Iron Horse via decorated vehicle trunks. All are welcome to dress up, bring a bag for treats, and have fun! Entrance to the event is free. Dinner (hot dogs, chips and soda) will be available for purchase for $3-bring your picnic blankets! We will also have an Italian Ice Cream food truck present to purchase sweet treats. Then, you can continue the fun at Legend High School from 6:00-8:00pm with their free Pumpkin Palooza. We hope to see you there!

Halloween Parties:
Students will be allowed to come to school in their costumes (with regular clothing underneath) on Monday, October 31st to celebrate Halloween. Classroom parties will be held from 8:30-9:30am with breakfast treats (8:30-9:15 for All day and AM Kindergarten, 1:15-2:00 for PM Kindergarten). Students will then remove their costumes and continue with their learning. Costumes must follow the following guidelines:
  • No blood, profanity, gore, or otherwise offensive items/decor
  • No masks or face paint
  • No weapons or items that could be construed as being a weapon
Please contact your student's teacher if you have any questions.

Little Red House Textile Drive:
You may have noticed the new "red house" next to our mobile trailer. We will be collecting textiles for the month of November. You can drop off used clothing, towels, stuffed animals, shoes, belts, purses, backpacks, and sheets in the house. We do not accept electronics, TVs, computers, furniture, luggage, bikes, skis, etc. Iron Horse receives $0.10 per pound of textiles. This money will support our Significant Support Needs classroom.

Socktober:
In October, we would like to give back to those who are less fortunate in our state. We are calling our drive Socktober. During the month of October, we will be collecting new, unused pairs of socks to give to students in need. Please drop off your pairs of new, unused socks in your child's classroom. The classroom that has donated the most socks will win a special classroom party hosted by Mrs. Wyoming America, Erica Pederson. Thank you for supporting our efforts!

Open Enrollment:
Is your family making a local move and you want to stay at Iron Horse Elementary?  If so, the process is quick and easy! The open enrollment window for the 2017-2018 school year will be open from November 1, 2016 through January 5, 2017. You can find the link on our district website. Once you have moved into your new home, just file an updated proof of residence with the school office.
